Project Lead the Way Introduction to Engineering is designed to enable students to understand the field of engineering and engineering technology. This course will focus on the design development process of a product and how a 3D model of that product is produced, analyzed, and evaluated, using a computer-aided design system. Students will use modern, state-of-the-art computer hardware and Autodesk Inventor software to create product solutions. Various design applications will be explored with discussion of possible career opportunities.
Project Lead the Way Principles of Engineering exposes students to the science behind engineering. Students will learn about energy and electricity, material properties and testing, fluids and hydraulics, and projectile motion, among other topics. In the second half of the year, they will learn about robotics, and how to design, construct and program robots to complete various tasks.
