Sugar River Valley's Student Placement Programs

Student Placement Programs

The student placement program is a "real-world" experience which allows students an opportunity to enhance the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the classroom and apply it to a position within a local business. The experience for each student is managed by a classroom teacher, a work-site mentor, and a guidance counselor / program coordinator. The teacher and the work-site mentor, with the assistance of the counselor /coordinator, will identify skills that the students will learn and apply on the job. Students will also participate in regularly scheduled classes that will focus on studying all aspects of the work experience. These work experiences are typically not paid positions and will depend on the individual circumstances. Students wishing to participate in this work-based learning experience must have completed the necessary approval process prior to beginning the program.
